5G-ROUTES - “5th Generation connected and automated mobility cross-border EU trials” - has been a 5G-PPP Phase 3 project aimed to validate the latest 5G features and 3GPP specifications (Releases16 and 17) of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) under realistic conditions.
In particular, it carried out advanced large-scale field trials of the most representative CAM applications to demonstrate seamless functionality across a prominent 5G cross-border corridor (Via Baltica-North), crossing Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
Several colleagues from the SNS team (including Carmen San Román, Sonia Castro and Guillermo Gómez) participated in this project, where Eviden was responsible for the development of a module of the project's CAM Services Platform, the CAM Repository, and also has led the task related to 5G-PPP collaboration, recommendations and scale-up.
The CAM Repository provides the system for storing, distributing and verifying the artefacts that make up the CAM Services (cloud-native OSM-compatible Network Services).
This repository plays an important role in the management of CAM Services across borders, as it also provides a way to seamlessly configure a multi-domain scenario by automatically synchronizing the catalogs of the CAM Services Platform instances in each domain to ensure that "Follow-Me" CAM Services are supported when crossing borders, without the need for manual migration of artifacts or increased instantiation latency.
