On November 14, 2024, a highly successful workshop was organized by the DC4EU project with WP Leaders, partners and members of the Advisory and Observer boards. The event brought together prominent professionals and experts in digital identity to discuss critical topics related to the project.
The workshop began with welcoming remarks from Alberto Crespo (Identity Management & Privacy Team Leader), the host of the event, and Ángel Martín Bautista, Deputy Director of Planning and Governance of Digital Administration at the Secretaría General de Administración Digital (SGAD), who summarised the objectives of the Digital Credentials for Europe consortium. An overview of the current status of the project was given followed by a discussion on the impact of eIDAS on DC4EU.
The WP leaders covered strategic considerations regarding trust frameworks, verifiable credentials, self-sovereignty and interoperability, and discussed large-scale pilots for the Education and Professional Qualifications use case, the large-scale pilot for the Social Security use case and the technological implications of the Interoperability Lab.
The afternoon was dedicated to questions and answers, feedback from advisors and observers and lightning talks, and ended with an open discussion on the future of DC4EU and large-scale pilots.
The workshop was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, gain valuable feedback and strengthen collaboration between the different stakeholders involved in the project.
