The O-CEI project, funded under the HORIZON-CL4-2024-DATA-01-03 topic, kicked off on 15-16 January in Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. O-CEI consortium is composed by 58 partners from 20 countries, including leading industrial players, research organizations, academic institutions, SMEs, and non-profits. The consortium members took this meeting opportunity to exchange views and set their expectations for the project. Lara López (Edge Computing Team) attended this meeting on behalf of Eviden.
The CEI project aims to speed up the adoption and scaling of Cloud-Edge-IoT solutions to boost Europe’s competitiveness and strategic autonomy by promoting cross-domain data sharing, energy efficiency, and open standards in the transport&logistics domains.
O-CEI platform will be developed across six strategic verticals: electricity grids, electromobility, software-defined vehicles, agriculture, logistics, and urban environments. O-CEI is planning to conduct 8 large-scale pilots to showcase innovative applications, including optimizing renewable energy grids, promoting sustainable dairy production, enabling smart electric vehicle charging, and managing energy in maritime ports.
The meeting joined over 120 experts that aligned on ambitious goals, reviewed the project pilots, clarified the roadmap ahead and planned key deliverables.
