The process of digital transformation in which practically any area of society is involved also involves the progressive deployment of connected devices. However, the future IoT and its convergence with other types of technologies such as Big Data or Artificial Intelligence requires the use of a new generation of objects with embedded intelligence that can be interconnected to multiple platforms simultaneously. In this sense, the current security mechanisms are not capable of providing an end to end protection to this new type of IoT systems.
