6G-OPENSEC aims to provide security, trust, and quantum key distribution (QKD) solutions for 6G transport networks through an open and flexible architecture.
6G-OPENSEC is divided into three subprojects:
- 6G-OPENSEC_KEYS proposes to adopt flexible and efficient software-controllable quantum key distribution (QKD) solutions using SDN technology to ensure security in 6G networks. An integration of QKD technologies is being promoted in a sustainable manner considering the deployed network infrastructure and a better use of network resources.
- 6G-OPENSEC_SECURITY aims at the design and implementation of an intelligent and autonomous 6G network slicing security manager (NSSM) for the management of network slices with security requirements for open and dissagregated 6G networks. The 6G network slicing security manager is being equipped with closed control loops that will allow security to be operated in the network slices proactively, using predictive and prescriptive analysis that can detect and anticipate security problems (for example, attacks, threats, intrusion detection) and executing corrective actions to mitigate them.
- 6G-OPENSEC_TRUST aims to design, implement and validate a Trust manager to calculate and manage the trust of participating service providers in an open and unbundled 6G network, so at the time a service is requested, it can be known who has the best trustworthiness. Distributed ledger technology (DLT) - such as Blockchain - is playing a key role in creating a new basis of trust for telecom services in multi-vendor scenarios. Trust manager is making it possible to define service level agreements (SLAs) with specific trust requirements.
Eviden participates in two of three 6G-OPENSEC subprojects: SECURITY (Secure network slice manager for open and disaggregated 6G networks), and TRUST (Distributed Ledger Technology-based trust management for open and disaggregated 6G networks).
